They don't make many buildings like this in Ireland. This gallery looks great from the outside and inside.

Located beside a stream in the leafy grounds of University College Cork, the straight concrete lines and curved wood exterior of the building hints at something a little more than ordinary.

Inside, the large open exhibition spaces are framed by large windows and that leafy corner of Cork outside.

There is a great bookshop with plenty of interesting gifts and as always the exhibition changes. Each year there is a Christmas gift fair held over the course of a weekend in November.

Downstairs a lovely little bistro called Fresco that serves delicious soups, sandwiches and cooked meals. You can sit outside or inside depending on the weather.
