This was one of my best experiences in Galway. The cottage is a bit hidden and I found it by chance. There were only two other tourists there and the lady (I assume that was Katie) working there. I basically got a private tour through the cottage. Since she herself used to live in a cottage like this during her childhood, she had lots of stories to tell from her own experience. Read moreReally ticked off that it was closed! We walked 40 mins to find it and on calling the phone number while outside this place we were told it was by appointment only. Rubbish! Nowhere on the website did it say by appointment only. Such a waste of time!

A Galway boat (with name Google misunderstands) is on the grounds in front of the cottage, without sails. Very friendly & informative!
