Read moreThe Salt House was a lucky find. We didn't even plan to sattle on this evening, but it was THAT fine that we stayed till midnight. The place is slightly off of the touristic pub and bar streets but still very close. We got into plenty chats with locals here, that were just having two or three beers and were open minded and willingly to talk to us german tourists. It was quite a fun night also with a lot of new beer brands for us. The whole interior is covered and decorated with signs of world wide beer brands and tapstickers. We even found a few german ones. Great selection of craft beers and always having offers or special brews for sale. Connor the Bar Manager is a local from Connemara, he is well travelled and a a very amiable host. Sitting outside (when the sun shines) or enjoying the cozy vibe inside this is a must stop to if only to see the difference of what a small bar is really like as compared to the larger (tourist traps ) on Quay st.
