I visited SEA LIFE Bray Aquarium last week and I had a great time exploring the underwater world. The aquarium has a variety of sea creatures, from colorful fish and corals to exotic sharks and seahorses. The main attraction for me was the Shark Lagoon, where I saw different species of sharks, such as blacktip reef sharks, nurse sharks, and zebra sharks. I also enjoyed the Seahorse Kingdom, where I learned about the fascinating life cycle and behavior of these delicate creatures. The Golden Pufferfish and the Giant Size Sting Ray were also impressive and beautiful to watch. The aquarium staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they answered all my questions and gave me interesting facts about the animals. The aquarium was clean and well-maintained, and the exhibits were informative and interactive. The only downside was that the aquarium was quite small and crowded, and I felt that some of the tanks were too cramped for the animals. I think the aquarium could improve by expanding its space and adding more diversity and enrichment for the animals. Overall, I would rate SEA LIFE Bray Aquarium 4 out of 5 stars, and I would recommend it to anyone who loves marine life and wants to have a fun and...
Read moreIt's okay. Glad that we have an aquarium in the Dublin area at all, but it was very small. We were hoping that there will be at least one room where you can seat down and watch a sea spectacle (as you do in bigger aquariums in Europe), but the place is designed as a zigzag of corridors with small aquariums and only the last room being bigger. I thought it was very unusual that the first 3 or 4 water tanks were very low and uncovered, so children ended up putting their hands in, despite their parents efforts to stop them. There is one tank with turtles and a warning sign that they might bite. My 3yo run ahead and his hands were already in the water by the time I caught up with him. This is a h&s risk and they should either seal off the tank or warn the parents with small children ahead of the tour. Despite it being small and overpriced, I will definitely come back with my son when he's older to observe and learn about the sealife. We enjoyed seeing an octopus, seahorses, starfish, urchins, anemones, colourful fish...
Read moreI’ve been to SeaLife a number of times as a visitor and teacher accompanying school tours. It is an excellent way to spend your afternoon. The staff are so kind and friendly and are very knowledgeable about all of the creatures in their care.
On my most recent visit, Michael was able to tell my Senior Infant class the name, age, favourite food AND habitat of EVERY sea creature we visited. The 4 month old baby octopus was a favourite and all of the sharks were a big hit too!
Many of the animals in the aquarium have been surrendered or rehomed as they were previously pets. They are thriving and happy and feeding time is a treat! There was even a fish that shot water from its mouth to catch its dinner!
The tour took approximately an hour - thanks to Michaels wonderful knowledge!
We cannot recommend SeaLife enough, thank you all so much! Looking forward to our next visit already!
Edit: We paid just under €10 per child which included a guided tour. I highly recommend this as young children learned...
