Terrible experience. We sat and had food from one of the trucks on site and a pint. A man, who turned out to be a member of staff, had been talking to a couple he knew near our table. He then went to walk by our table but stopped right in front of us and talked loudly back at the couple while not wearing a mask over us, our food and drinks. I asked him politely if he could move on but he immediately became sarcastic and rude and kept saying "sorry to offend you". We told we were not offended, but that we just don't want someone not wearing a mask being so close. He insisted he has the right to stand wherever he wanted and that he works there but he continued on his way and we hoped that would be the end of it and we could finish our food and drink in peace. However, he came back and continued to say he did nothing wrong and that we were being offended by him. After a while my partner simply asked him to go away and leave us alone as we were done with this conversation. He then told us he doesn't want us there anymore and asked us to leave. Again he walked off but soon returned asking us to leave again, which we were in the process of doing anyway wanting no more confrontation. On our way out we briefly spoke to the owner who was completely unconcerned about the way a member of his staff behaved. I've always considered the Hibernia a kip and probably the worst pub in Bray, I've now had my belief in that confirmed and would not return there under any circumstances. I'd suggest no one else does either. If I could rate it less than 1...
Read moreWait staff was lovely and very helpful, but food and chef was a joke. Asked if the vegetable curry had any milk in it or if the base of the sauce was made with oyster sauce and when the waitress came back she said the chef didn't know! What kind of Chef doesn't know what's in the food that they're cooking .When I asked could I get the burrito with no cheese the waitress responded with I think there's milk in the wrap, I didn't even respond to that. No wrap that I've ever come across has milk in it. I ended up getting a baked potato with fried veg which was mediocre, asked for a side of beans and I got the smallest egg cup of beans I've ever seen and they were barely warm. Two family members got minestrone soup that was more like pasta sauce and spaghetti than anything else, they didn't finish it. Other two seemed happy with what they got so it seems to be very hit and miss. The place it's self was not particularly looked after, seats had crumbs and were taped together. Hate to think what the standards are like in the kitchen. Needless to say I will not...
Read moreI've just been to The Hibernia bar this Sunday the 13th of June with two friends got food and drinks and the staff were lovely. Untill a group of four sat infront of us and we were "being too loud" with laughter and enjoyment and the group moved from us and put in a complaint. We were told by management we were being too loud and we said sorry and continued enjoying ourselves bearing in mind we might be too loud, until we tried to order another drink and we were refused Apparently we we're being too loud. But continue to take our round which was 20 euro We asked the other FOUR tables if we were being too loud and all said no, and one table even thought they were louder than us. We were not a messy group nor were we a drinking group, simply enjoying our time outdoor dinning. Yes, being too loud in an out door dinning area..... As for Philip who was the "manager" of the evening, he was an absolute disgrace to deal with and would not let us get a word in to explain why we couldn't be served. For an day we would of enjoyed the evening was ruined by us...
