EDITED IN RESPONSE My husband sent your manager a photo of the ONE piece of chicken on the night. Your manager offered to refund the following day after the agreed phone call with the owner, neither of which happened at the time. Refund received 30.11.22 The replacement main course arrived at 9.50pm, the original order was placed at 7.30pm (wasting OUR time). My husband said that Daata should ensure they look after their customers, as these very customers will keep businesses going during recession times/downturns in the economy. You rely on customers to bring in income. NOTHING about hope your business closes EVER came into the conversation at ANY time. Your manager stated that if she had known it was us (frequent, return customers) that she would have ensured our order was satisfactory and correct when leaving the kitchen. *My husbands phone number was given on the night and in the following days through Instagram pm to await the agreed phonecall and refund from the owner. We are fully aware that your business is open 20 years, as we've been a customer of yours for many years. But obviously not a valued one.

Appalling customer service and systemic problem within this eating establishment. We were, I would have thought, extremely supportive, returning customers to Daata, spending ALOT of money with them over the years. Having experienced a few blips which were dealt with somewhat satisfactorily each time, the last experience was beyond disappointing. Ordered meal which arrived with one main course containing 1 piece of chicken. Phoned to ask for replacement main course, where person on the phone apologised and said if they had of known it was for us they would have made sure the order was correct. It shouldn't matter who the order is for, they should all be correct and satisfactory when leaving the kitchen. A replacement arrived 1.5 hours later, way too late to eat and rice and naan were cold as they'd been received so long ago. We sent meal back with driver, manager phoned and said they would arrange for refund the following day (we're still waiting for that refund 3 weeks later). They said the owner would call to discuss, this also hasn't happened to date. The reply to my Instagram direct message requesting contact suggested that they tried to rectify the situation on the night and that we were basically being awkward. Very disappointing attitude towards a good customer. What's sad is the food is very good, however, unless Daata can deal with customers satisfactorily and not repeat mistakes over and over again then customers will go elsewhere. Extremely annoyed with how we were treated, feels like they took the attitude that we were too vocal, so let's just ignore these annoying, awkward...

Daata Bray is hands down one of the best dining experiences I’ve had! From the moment we walked in, the warm atmosphere and attentive service set the tone for an unforgettable lunch with our friends who were visiting us from London. I enjoyed the Kaali Dal Makhni, Aloo Baigan, and Butter Paratha—everything was bursting with authentic flavors, perfectly spiced, and cooked to perfection. The dal was creamy and comforting, the aloo baigan had a delightful balance of textures and flavors, and the butter paratha was soft, flaky, and indulgent. My friends couldn’t stop raving about their meat dishes. The highlight for them was the Afghani Chicken, which they described as tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious—a must-try for meat lovers! The icing on the cake was their sweet gesture of surprising me with a birthday treat. It was such a thoughtful touch that made our lunch even more special. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves incredible food but also goes out of their way to create meaningful experiences for their customers. Daata Bray is a gem, and I can’t wait to go back to explore more of their menu. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, flavorful, and welcoming dining experience! Special mention to their amazing staff! Trust me, it’s rare to get this kind of service these days :)

Lovely location with views of Bray strand. Menu is a little limited particularly for vegetarians. Not entirely surprising given Pakistani cousine is very much meat based. The fare that is on offer while not being extraordinary is certainly flavoursome and filling though a tad on the greasy side. Staff were polite and friendly, though perhaps a little green. For example, no one approached us after our meal was served to see if we needed anything etc. Another e.g. when we enquired into the main ingredients of a dish before ordering, the waitress was at a bit of a loss, which happens but didn't offer to check with the Chef either. Also,I ordered a beer with my meal but this was the last thing to arrive at the table, should ideally have been the first. I should add that none of these things took away from the enjoyment of our meal. The Naans were particularly good. All in all, a great location, amazing views,ok menu (for vegetarians) and friendly staff. 3 main courses, a kids meal and a beer set us back €50. Limited interesting vegetarian options would probably deter me from returning any time soon.
