Where do I start? The Lido Degli Artisti beach club and restaurant is AMAZING!! It was a highlight of our two weeks in Italy. It was a splurge at 600 Euros for four us but well worth it. That included 4 lounge chairs, 2 umbrellas, towels, water, welcome drink, a starter and entrée for each of us and boat transportation from a port in Amalfi near our hotel. I communicated via WhatsApp with Imma who owns the club with her husband. They have different tiers starting at 50 Euros and we selected the 150pp. There was just one tier above us which included a bottle of wine and first row of chairs while our tier was guaranteed 2nd row…but Imma put us in the first row which was much appreciated!
The beach, while rocky (like much of the coast), was gorgeous. The views were spectacular and the water crystal clear. Now for the restaurant….one of the best we ate at in Italy and we ate out every night for two weeks at very nice restaurants including Michelin Star. I will attach pics of our starters and entrees. It was a ton of food but oh so delicious. I had pasta with anglerfish which was one of the best pastas I had the entire trip.
The absolute highlight was the 16th birthday celebration for my daughter. I had told Imma ahead of time that I wanted a cake with candles and she told me they make chocolate and lemon cakes fresh every day. I chose the lemon. They had a guy who was DJing and also played the saxophone to some of the songs. So, when it came time for the cake to come out, Imma, her husband, several staff members and the guy on saxophone came clapping, singing, and playing sax. It was incredible. My daughter felt so special. And that cake – absolutely divine. Pic attached.
Imma, her husband and the staff work very hard to make sure that all of their guests have a top-notch, memorable experience. It was one of the best days we had in Italy and we hope to go back some day. If we do, we will definitely be going to Lido Degli Artisti! Thank you Imma and everyone at the club who made our...
Read moreOverall, it was a great day. This beach is beautiful (despite the super hot dark-colored rocks that make up the “sand”) and the chairs have the face blocker on them to make it even more lovely!
We paid €30 per person for chairs / a shared umbrella. This give you access for the day - in and out of the water, up to the restaurant, laying in the sun, and for the free boat transfer to the Amalfi dock.
We accessed the beach via the stairs and made a reservation with the employee stationed at the very top of the staircase. When coming onto the beach, we were questioned about the reservation multiple times. When getting on the boat transfer later, we were questioned again and told we couldn’t take it (despite us clarifying with multiple other employees that we were good to go). He let us on eventually, but it was very awkward.
Beware coming as a non-Italian speaker. You have to fight for service and will be questioned as if you don’t belong. Still a beautiful location, but would recommend just using the public beach part without chairs and go to the...
Read moreWe were really looking forward to staying at this beach - we read a lot about lido degli artisti and went straight to its side of the beach for that reason. First of all the sun beds were quite expensive and you had to pay for a shower - disappointing knowing that other beaches charging similarly would provide the showers free of charge. There was only one loo and the beach was packed! Very crowded everywhere you turn - didn’t give best impression. We really wanted to eat here as most reviews were complaining the food - sadly when we turned up for lunch we were told that that all tables were booked (although the space wasn’t too small). I know - happens - but I wish the lovely lady at the entrance would tip us off about it (especially that we were there quite early!)! She explained quite excessively how to get straight to the Lido and not to the competitors! Especially that she talked about the restaurant to us! Shame she never mentioned it’s worth booking...
