Cefalù Train Station — Attraction in Cefalù

A small train station serving Cefalu. Ticket machines are accessable in various languages and you can pay by card or cash. You select destination, travel date, and train time for ticket and can purchase a similar return ticket as well (or purchase the latter at your destination station when you wish to come back). No sign of staff when we were there and ticket office was closed. The cost of the journey from Cefalu to Palermo, which takes just over an hour, was just over 5 Euros for a single ticket. No train time leaflet on display so internet needed to access the train website. You must remember to put your ticket in the machines on the wall as you go out to the platforms to stamp it. the people who work the information booth are friendly and eager to help albeit limited openning hours. there is however a no ticket booth nor any other personnel, except for the café which is pretty busy and not so helpful. it would be nice if the station was better coordinated with information points and personal - all together in the same lobby - and signage pointing to various attractions and necessary infrastructure to tie it all together both from the town --- and from this station. this is after all a principal stop & city important to tourists and residents of the region and visitors to the island of Sicilia and the...

LAYOUT. 3 platforms that can easily be accessed from the main entrance.

TICKETS. You can only buy tickets from 2 machines (no ticket service powered by a human). I'd recommend buying the ticket online on www.trenitalia.it and skipping the queue. Make sure to "check in" online if your ticket requires so.

TOILETS. A pleasant surprise! Toilets can be accessed free of charge. The men's restroom had 2 toilets with toilet seats (several public toilets I've seen in Sicily haven't got one) with functional locks and toilet flushes. The sinks worked well and the soap dispenser...
