A challenging hike, but worth the views! At the kiosk, pay 5 euros and a ticket is printed for you. You scan in and out of the park, I assume to make sure everyone comes back down. There was staff to help if you need it as well as a cafe and bathroom.

The first portion of the hike up to the archaeological ruins is mostly stone and brick steps and while challenging wasn’t particularly dangerous. Stop at the ruins for great panoramic views of the city and water.

After the archaeological ruins, you can continue up to the castle ruins at the top of the rock. This portion of the path is soil and rock and is more dangerous. Unless you’re seeking the challenge, I wouldn’t recommend choosing to walk up to the castle ruins. The views include the surrounding hills but aren’t much better than at the lower ruins so I wouldn’t call them worth the further trek.

There is good signage and informational plaques along the route.

It took us two hours round trip with plenty of stops along the way for breaks and pictures. Wear hiking shoes, bring lots of water, and wear sunscreen. There are picnic tables at the archaeological ruins if you want to bring a...

Lovely scenery, quite easy to climb through the Rocca park as there are stairs all the way up to Diana's temple and even upper to the Castle - although best to grab walking shoes, not sandals, as the stairs are not leveled, and it can get pretty steep. Bring water too, as it can get pretty sunny till you reach the parts in the shadow. The entrance to the park is 5 EUR per person. Not sure if there's a way through the forest / mountain too, but the road through the park is pretty straightforward, although Diana's temple is not marked in any way. It's towards the Archeological center, after Chiesa di S. Anna. The amazing views are from the point of view platform right after Diana's temple, no need to climb all the way to the castle...

It is a place not for everyone, let me explain. Hiking is quite hard as you have to go steep in to the mountain. We started our hike about 8:30 as it was about 27 celsius(not too hot) going up the hill almost all the time there was a shade so you dont get the burning hot of the sun. At about 11:30 as we went down, there were almost no shade and it was so f…in hot that we ended the hike almost without any energy at all. We went on hiking in august 10. Keep in my mind that if you want to hike up the hill in august, you have to come first in the early morning from 8:00. At 12:00 o clock the temperature is insane hot burns every...
