Bormio Ski — Attraction in Comunità montana Alta Valtellina

I've been going to Santa Caterina and Bormio for years, I've been here at least 8. Unfortunately, I have to say that it's getting worse and worse. I'll start with a visit to the pool. There was a race here. The entire piste, which reaches the seat, was closed to racing. In the place in front of the lift (seat) everywhere, but everywhere young competitors who absolutely did not respect other participants of the cable car and ski pass users. Their giant backpacks tossed everywhere. Getting to the cable car was really a feat. As for Santa Caterina as well as through a copier. Every day closed slopes for ski schools and their races. Today, February 24, 2022, the arrival to the Paradiso restaurant is also quite um, because you have to cross a half-closed ski slope for races, and when you leave the restaurant, you drive 1.5 wide so that young Italians can have their own races. Not to mention the local instructors, who also only accept their charges who have paid them and the others on the cable car are not interested. They are everywhere, they stop in corners where it is dangerous and they cross the whole piste, so you slowly don't even have the opportunity to go around them. They are arrogant and overtake everywhere. For example, an older blonde instructor rode to my girlfriend even though she saw her. Many of the slopes are no longer groomed here, and if so, there are restrictions due to children's races. For example, the poma that I got to the hill and from there to the cabin no longer works. If I didn't know it here, I wouldn't have a comparison, but it's really worse. I personally come here for about 9.5 hours, because I've always liked it here, but I'd rather go to Austria, where the locals don't behave like that. When the others dislike this, the Italians will stare at the empty slopes and they will not have anything to say. They probably don't realize that tourism feeds them here. Con un dislivello di circa 1800 m il comprensorio sciistico di Bormio è in grado di accontentare non solo sciatori più o meno esperti, ma anche amanti della montagna e dei suoi paesaggi.

Numerosi gli impianti di risalita che permettono di arrivare anche fino alle vette di Bormio 3000 e Cima Bianca. A fondovalle è possibile trovare diverse infrastrutture e rental che permettono di noleggiare sci e attrezzature sportive professionali, oltre ai principali parcheggi, la fermata degli ski bus per raggiungere gli impianti a piedi e l'ingresso della cabinovia, dove acquistare lo skipass.

In vetta sono molte le piste percorribili, anche se spesso alcune non sono accessibili a causa di imprevisti, gare o manutenzioni. La maggior parte delle 17 piste del comprensorio sono rosse di media difficoltà raggiungibili in pochi minuti di seggiovia, presenti anche cinque piste blu per principianti dotate di tapis e skilift, solo una pista nera (Le Betulle), oltre allo snowpark e al percorso ad ostacoli Funslope Valbella. Sulle piste sono numerosi i punti di ristoro e i rifugi dove poter sostare per un pranzo veloce o un après-ski.

Organizzatevi per tempo controllando il meteo (in vetta spesso molto variabile) e se potete portatevi avanti facendo lo skipass online, eviterete inutili code. Tenete conto che la zona è sempre molto trafficata, la strada principale é un cul de sac e in genere non particolarmente organizzata: molti degli impianti di risalita sono piuttosto vecchi e non è raro imbattersi in piste poco battute o completamente ghiacciate.

Il punto di forza é il panorama veramente impagabile e per apprezzarlo ancora di più è possibile raggiungere il paese direttamente con gli sci ai piedi percorrendo la Stelvio, la pista che ospita annualmente la discesa libera di Coppa del Mondo.

⚠️Importante: acquistando lo skipass del comprensorio Bormio Skipass è inclusa anche l'area di Santa Caterina e di Cima Piazzi-San Colombano, per un totale di circa 117 Km di piste collegate anche con un servizio ski bus (gratuito per i possessori di skipass). Tenete però conto che i prezzi degli skipass sono dinamici e variano in base al giorno, alla tipologia di formula scelta e anche in base all'età anagrafica dello sciatore, quindi...

I enjoyed Bormio ski a lot!! Went there for 2 days with my bf and spent a great time. We were both beginners to intermediate at ski but we managed very well to ski all down the slope from around 3000 many times, as the slopes are wide and not very crowded.
