Luogo surreale e meraviglioso, molto selvaggio ma praticamente a ridosso della città di Matera. Si tratta di un canyon lunghissimo e profondissimo,.solcato dal torrente gravina, le cui pareti sono praticamente piene di cavità trasformate in chiese rupestri nel corso dei secoli. Oggi paio andata al parco rupestre di Matera per la prima volta giornata sbagliatissima faceva un caldo in gravina che era incredibile le chiese rupestri chiuse per restauro e le poche cavità aperte erano un cumulo di detriti ma come mai la gente non valorizza quello che ha potrebbero essere magnifiche ed invece sono tenute malissimo peccato davvero
