I like the station having options to buy food and not having to leave. The streets are really rough and uneven as you walk away from the station. I’ve attempted it and didn’t go very far. If you have a short stop, maybe an hour or so leave the station if you must to walk around and enjoy the architecture. If you’re like me and have a suitcase, maybe consider getting food at the one right at the station. It is busy like the other reviews mentioned, but it appears to be the “gateway” so Cinque Terre so expect crowds. I’m here on the first week of January and the station is still busy. It’s not the most modern facility, but it gets the job done, and the proximity to local shops and cafes is a plus.
That said, the station could benefit from some updates—especially in terms of seating, escalator access, and restroom facilities. During peak travel times, it can get crowded, so it’s wise to arrive early and validate tickets in advance. Despite its quirks, it remains a practical and essential hub for...
