Visited this place based on reviews but was a total disappointment. The waiter was so unprofessional and insisted me to order the most expensive item on the menu. When received rejection, she was agressive and did not want to take my order under the pretext of ‘it will take too much time to cook it’. After some back and forth, the sirloin stake I ordered came to my table as totally raw and not cooked at all although I requested to have it mid-well. Also the meat was not cleaned well, it was impossible to chew it due to nerves and connective tissues, even impossible to cut it because of stiffness. I could only eat 15% of the meat that was served. When I communicated this problem with the waiter, she priggishly said that it is normal for a sirloin to be full of nerves(!) Her attitude was as if she knows everything very well (but apparently she did not) and she treats her customers as ignorants as if it was the first time that I was eating a meat in my life. I think due to a few numbers of steakhouse restaurants in Italy, this ‘so-called’ fine dining restaurant has an unjustified high rating. It didn’t deserve any of the...
Read moreAfter a long day of hiking through Cinque Terre, we decided to try our luck in La Spezia – and stumbled upon the wonderful spot Nana Meats & Wine.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and could choose our own table. My wife and I ordered a glass of wine and were presented with two excellent options to pair with our meat choices. I went for the dry-aged cut, while my wife and son shared a perfectly cooked 500g tenderloin.
What really stood out was the attention to detail: when the wines arrived, we were first offered a tasting in separate glasses before receiving the full pour in a fresh one – only after our approval.
Before the meat was prepared, the cuts were brought to our table for us to see exactly what would be cooked – a great touch. I have to say, both dishes were full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and among the best meals I've had in a long time.
During dinner, the staff checked in to see if everything was to our liking, and the overall warmth and personal attention made this experience...
Read moreWay too overpriced for what you get. We got the lasagna, large steak burger, and chicken with a side of roasted potatoes. Why only one side? You have to pay 4 euros for each side. And there was no seasoning to the potatoes. Just regular, plain pieces. The only decent thing out of the main courses was the burger. The lasagna seemed prepackaged and frozen. And they didn’t just heat it up, it was burnt. The chicken was okay but it was one plain, dry piece on a big plate. We didn’t even get it with the rest of the meal. It came right as we were finishing up with the meal. All of that was close to 50 euros. Maybe I could have looked over the food if it was good service, but the staff would talk and laugh behind customers back. Don’t recommend for tourists. Don’t pay attention to the reviews. We expected so much more for a high, fancy reviewed place and we’re highly disappointed. Don’t take my review as the only thing. We watched several tables around us send their food back before we...
