Delicious pizza! Without a doubt, the best we’ve had in Italy so far. We enjoyed it so much that we visited the restaurant twice. I tried the “Diavola” and the “Parma” – both were excellent and full of flavor.
My girlfriend ordered the “Capricciosa” and asked for a vegetarian version. We kindly requested to replace the prosciutto cotto with arugula (rucola), and the staff member responded positively, saying it was no problem. The pizza itself was delicious – however, when it came to paying, we were a bit surprised: the man directly handed us the card terminal before we had the chance to see the itemized bill. Only after the transaction did we notice an additional €1 charge for the arugula.
Of course, €1 is not a big deal – but we had clearly understood it as a substitution, not an extra topping, and would have expected the price to stay the same or even decrease slightly. The way the situation was handled felt a bit impolite and left us somewhat disappointed after an otherwise...
Read moreDecent spot for a quick bite in the square. The location’s super central, you won’t miss it. Staff are friendly and speak English, and there are QR code menus in multiple languages, which is always a plus for travelers.
They take pride in their Neapolitan pizza, so I stuck with the classics.
Margherita pizza – A solid 2.5 out of 5. Not bad at all. Tomato sauce is alright but doesn’t quite pop with natural sweetness. Cheese is fine, dough has good texture, but not much depth of flavor.
Classic calzone – Similar to the Margherita in taste, with added ham. The inside was really wet—not sure if that’s the style, but it felt a little too soggy for me.
Grilled vegetables – Came out cold and felt like an afterthought. Wouldn’t recommend this one.
Overall, if you’re nearby and just want an easy pizza stop, this place will do the trick. It’s nothing fancy, but not a bad choice if you’re in the square and feeling hungry. Friendly enough vibe and...
Read moreExcellent pizza. Must do when in Spezia. I was about to give a 3* to the place before receiveing my pizza. Luckily, my phone battery was dead, and the restaurant guy kindly suggested taking it to charge. Why 3*? First, a queue at the entrance (I recommend booking) - but it was fast. Well, it’s a popular place. Second, q lot of hustle and bustle. Well, a popular place indeed. Third, waiting for my order to arrive. Well, a busy and popular place. But when I tasted the pizza, with its soft delicate dough, fresh quality ingredients, perfectly cooked - I felt like in Naples and was just so happy. I thanked the pizzaioli and the staff when leaving. By the way, the servers are nice (just very busy). Just 1 comment to the excellent Parma pizza - imho? it would have been even better with shaved Parmigiano reggiano. But it was an absolute delight....
