Alpe di Siusi — Attraction in Salten-Schlern - Salto-Sciliar

Obviously a must see if you are in the Dolomites. We stayed in Ortisei. Wonderful. Journeyed up on the cable car on opening day. Very easy on/off - like a Disneyland ride! Incredible views on the way up/back and at the top. Easy walking trails but there is a few hundred foot gradual drop to the valley floor and then the walk back up. Just take your time. And stop at the Schgaguler Schwaige mountain hut - it’s right at the base of the walking path heading back up to the cable...

The most beautiful place that can exist on this earth. The pictures can never do justice to the kind of beautiful this place is. You just have to be there to witness the immense beauty of this place. The place is just so quiet and peaceful that it takes you to another world and connects you back to the nature.

Highly recommend visiting other places in Europe BEFORE you visit here, or else no other place will seem this beautiful. Try keeping this to the end of your trip...

Beautiful meadows and nice hiking trails at the Alpe di Siusi. We started at Compatsch and from there we followed route 'O' (you can get a map at the ski lift). After the panorama ski lift, we extended our trail by following part of route 'N' and then returning back to Compatsch.
