Ristorante Lido Tropical — Attraction in Tropea

Both the food and service were amazing. From start to finish, the dishes were of exceptional quality.

When we were explained the specials of the evening we were also presented with the catch of the day, a varient of what we commonly call the Amberjack in English. You could tell that it was fresh as it smelled of the sea and lacked any sort of fishy odor.

Our professional server was imbued with the skill of selecting the perfect wine to accompany our meal. In our case, a dry Calabrian white with mineral notes and a citrus finish.

The entire staff worked as a team to make sure that our table as well as the others never went without need or want.

This is a very simple no fuss restaurant right on the Lido with outstanding food. The special of the day was a burrata with gamberi rosso tartare. We eat the gamberi rosso everytime it's on the menu. It is soooo good! And when you put it on top of burrata, it is a ridiculously creamy and sweet combination. We were surprised and how good the food was as the place looks like a cafeteria, but it doesn't have to be fancy when you've got a view of the sea. The simple salad with marinated Tropea onions (of course) was crisp, balanced and delicious. Il locale è di facile accesso, parcheggio abbastanza facile da trovare. Una cena di coppia a base di pesce con antipasto fantasie di mare, gamberi kataifi, due primi, cavateli ai frutti di mare e calamarata al gambero rosso. Sull’antipasto fantasie di mare, ben presentato, materia prima buona anche se in parte surgelata, sui gamberi kataifi invece ben preparati e dall’ottimo sapore. I cavatelli ben cotti, al dente, materia prima discreta a sto giro, non credo che era tutto fresco ma nel complesso un buon primo, mentre per la calamarata impiantata bene e nel complesso anch’esso un buon primo piatto. Chiudono la cena due bottiglie d’acqua, una coca ed un amaro Jefferson, quest’ultimo davvero molto molto buono. Quattro noti dolenti, la prima è quella legata al fumo al tavolo, il cameriere mi fa presente che non è possibile fumare e quindi esco fuori, ma noto alcuni tavoli col posacenere e che fumavano senza alzarsi dal proprio tavolo, quindi perché non applicare questa regola a tutti?! Seconda nota dolente, il bagno, praticamente è la cabina del lido, davvero brutta brutta da vedere, di conseguenza non ne abbiamo usufruito. Prezzo di 70,50€, diciamo nella norma, diciamo… Terza nota dolente, come arriviamo ci dicono “signori stiamo preparando il tavolo vista mare”, ma di mare non vi era neanche l’ombra (solo siepi, segue foto per capire meglio). Quarta note dolente, un capello nel mio piatto dove segue foto. Di sicuro non erano nostri dato che abbiamo capelli non corti come quello nel piatto e poi era incastrato nella pietanza. Nel complesso lo consiglio ma senza troppe pretese, più che ristorante potrei definirlo un’ottima osteria di pesce.
