Sunset Beach Club Tropea — Restaurant in Tropea

Come to restaurant as a tourist it’s not so good idea as they served Italians before you! Order started as mussels and one pasta with tartar!it was busy, after 55 minutes I asked waitress how long it will take, but he never come back to update. Italian people 4 starter and 4 pasta come to restaurant after 20 minutes , sitting next to us and finish all courses with exactly the same pasta! Then I got enough and call my boyfriend to speak with them as he’s from the area! The. Food after 1 hour arrived and soeak that I don’t wanted but still been left on table and no waiters come to even bother to speak!then eventually food come I speak to waiter then I don’t wanted as my boyfriend said to pay amd leave but he leave it on table and pretend don’t understand, he did understand very well, but all this time no waiters come to actually talk to us! Then eventually my partner arrived and sorted out the sytuation. We still have to pay for tartar, but anyway I would even pay it all , just don’t like that people who coming after are served because they are local and you go after! I would not say one thing if I waited 1 hour as long as first come first served. It was very busy indeed. Highly disappointed, very nice but for tourists not ideal unfortunately, good if you come with someone local or at least...

NOT AMERICAN FRIENDLY. GO TO BLANCA BEACH! We arrived around 1240-1255PM. It took them about 15 minutes to seat us, which we didn’t consider long at all, but for my boyfriend and I they created a table next to the bathrooms. At first we just appreciated that we were out of the sun but then it became very unromantic that there was a constant line of people next to our table. It then took another 10 minutes to order drinks. Those drinks came out about 10 min after ordering. They were delicious although very very sweet (Long Island iced tea and an old fashioned). After we ordered drinks our waiter said he would be back around to get our food order. He passed our table numerous times even with our hands up to wave him down. Initially we just gave him the benefit of the doubt because it was busy. After an additional hour of sitting there, I had to hunt him down to ask to close our tab. He didn’t seem concerned at all that we were leaving. We were never thanked for our business. It costed us 28 euros for that nearly 1.5 hour visit where we received little to nothing. We ended up walking to BLANCA BEACH restaurant just a few 100 meters next door and they were so welcoming!!!! They thanked us numerous times, got us in without a reservation, and the food/service...

Sadly, quite disappointing.

When we valled to reserve a table, we were told that if we didn't come on time, the place would be gone. When we arrived however, only one table was occupied in the restaurant. We're not allowed on the terrace because there are only cocktails there. In the restaurant it is very hot and there will be no more than two tables occupied throughout the evening.

5 of us 6 decide to eat a tasting menu. The ingredients are of high quality, but the pasta dish is cold and all 4 courses are almost unseasoned. I can't remember ever having to season dishes at a restaurant as often as I did that evening.

Although we had an Italian with us, every second order they acted as if they didn't understand us correctly. When pouring wine, either someone is forgotten or the glasses are filled as full as possible to empty the bottle immediately (which means that if you like the wine and you don't have to empty another one between the glasses).

The ice cream is good, the wine selection was very satisfactory and the pizza at the next table smelled and looked very good.

If we had only ordered wine and pizza, i think we would have...
