Our cooking experience was perfect and memorable! First, our gregarious guide Enzo led us into a garden that was a part of HibiscusUno property. The all organic garden has been tended to by loving hands for three generations now. We hand-picked herbs and vegetables to be used for our dinner.
Next, we moved to a cozy outdoor area on the property that had stations where we each prepared two types of pasta. It takes lots of kneading and persistence to make from-scratch pasta, but it’s so rewarding when your ball of dough turns into little spiral pasta or perfect fettuccini noodles!
Our dinner was fantastic—actually our favorite meal in our two-week span in Calabria. But even more, this was a dining EXPERIENCE. Ten of us from around the globe gathered around a wooden table, eating what our hands had collectively made, laughing, chatting and, by the end, exchanging pictures and numbers on WhatsApp. Also, the appetizers (a blend of goat and sheep cheese with honey) and wine were also delicious!
Enzo was so knowledgeable about the farm, the food and the Calabrian culture and really added to our dining experience. He was such a joyful presence with our group!

Enzo owns the company and will accompany you during your experiences to assist with translation, and translation aside he is a wonderful guide and now friend!! We had such an amazing time in both experiences. The pasta making left us feeling like part of the family, and with very full bellies. The vineyard was so beautiful and of course the wine was delicious. Enzo made sure we had transportation, and sure that we were always having a great time. The experiences might seem long but they need to be! You have to take the time to enjoy what you are doing and immerse yourself into it.
