From the moment we stepped into the National Automobile Museum in Torino, Italy, it felt like we were embarking on a high-speed journey through the annals of automotive history! With two eager young co-pilots and a seasoned navigator (their grandfather) in tow, our expedition through this treasure trove of vehicular wonders was nothing short of exhilarating. The extensive collection had us zigzagging from the quaint charm of early horseless carriages to the sleek finesse of modern-day marvels, and even gave us a tantalizing glimpse into the future of transportation. Each exhibit was a new chapter in a story that spanned centuries, continents, and countless innovations. For my sons, the museum was a playground of epic proportions. Their eyes sparkled with the same intensity as the polished chrome on a vintage Fiat, and their laughter echoed through the halls, creating a soundtrack that brought the static displays to life. They raced from one car to the next, their imaginations shifting gears faster than a Formula 1 driver on a straightaway. And then there was their grandfather, a man whose love for cars is rivaled only by his love for his grandchildren. Watching him share stories, pointing out the nuances of engineering and design, and instilling in them an appreciation for the craftsmanship of yesteryear was a heartwarming sight. His enthusiasm was infectious, and it bridged the gap between generations, making history feel as immediate and exciting as the present. What truly sets the National Automobile Museum apart is its ability to engage visitors of all ages, turning a simple outing into an educational adventure. We learned about the evolution of the automobile, not just as a means of transport, but as a catalyst for cultural and technological change. In short, the museum is a must-visit for anyone with even a passing interest in cars. It's a place where the past, present, and future of the automobile converge, offering a rich, immersive experience that's as informative as it is fun. Whether you're a wide-eyed child, a nostalgic grandparent, or somewhere in between, this museum has something to spark your curiosity and fuel your imagination. Highly recommended for families looking for an engaging, educational, and downright enjoyable day out. Five stars aren't enough to rate the fantastic journey we had at the National Automobile Museum in Torino!

What to expect in a car museum? Cars, lot of them. The rating foe this was almost a 3 star, but on reflexion its 4 because of the experience which was delightful. If you're expecting to see a multitude of italian cars, you might be disappointed. It's buit around the Italian industry yes, but there are many older italian cars I remember that aren't on show. It's biaised to cars made over time in and around Turin, but shows them on a delightful set of scenarios including stripped down engines, memorabilia and racing history. Maybe I was lucky it wasn't at all busy, but hot as 35degs outside in the shade. Count 15 minutes walk from metro Lingotto. Definately worth visiting, and my 3 day pass meant I was in free in a jiffy. Apparently its best to book ahead so ask when you arrive in Turin

Short: Petrolheads paradise for 8-15 Euros Long: Great Museum if you are a car enthusiast. We payed very fair 8 Euros per person (reduced prices if you stay in a hotel in Torino and grab a voucher there) and spend like 2-2.5hours approximately in there. You get to see plenty of cars (and parts), reaching from centuries old prototypes and old-timers from the early 1900s to modern age formula one cars (the newest being Massa's 2007 Ferrari). Just to mention it: it's of course mostly (but not all) Italian cars, the mayor part being Ferrari, Lancia and Fiat. Theres a shop as well as clean toilets, parking lots up front, it's easy to reach by bus and you can have a audio guide if you want to. I attached some Photos for you to judge yourself

It was simply amazing. I am not a big fan of cars but spent over 2 h here and loved every minute. It has an impressive collection of first, vintage, racing and iconic cars. It explains really well evolution of the car industry, designs and concepts. I loved the part on the difference between American and European cars and their role in societies. If you are interested in mechanics there is an entire part showing all types of engines and mechanisms, including evolution of wheels. I loved also how design is explained and all the visuals and interactive tools. In addition I found a dream car for myself (started playing lotto)and I actually bought the books in the gifts shop to explore further. A must go when in Torino.
