The wine is good and the property is beautiful; however, our entire experience was overshadowed and tainted by the poor communication from the management of Venissa. My husband booked the Storia tour months in advance to celebrate my birthday while we were in Venice. We checked the availability at Osteria a few days in advance and there was plenty of openings so we did not make a lunch reservation as we did not know when the winery tour would be finished. When we arrived at Venissa for our 10:30 tour, it appeared that they were setting up for some kind of event and we were informed that the Ristorante was closed for the day due to the event. At the end of our winery tour, we were then informed that Osteria was also closed for the day due to the event, meaning we would not be able to eat lunch at Venissa. We were incredibly bummed but decided we would make the most of it and just order a glass of wine and enjoy the scenery before leaving. We were then informed that we could not even order a glass of wine and our tour guide left. At that point, they had closed both entrances to the property and the event was almost completely set up and it became clear that they wanted us to leave. After paying a significant amount of money for the tour, we expected more professionalism from the management team. We were never informed there would be an event and we were never given the opportunity to re-book our tour for another day. In the future, I would highly recommend that the Venissa team not schedule winery tours on the same day as events at Venissa as it ruined our experience and made us feel...

2.5/5âď¸
Food: -onion tart was really good -hummus was decent -gnocchi with cuddle fish: said they ran out last nightâŚand just didnât make more gnocchi this morning before opening. Got another pasta and it was a bit too Al dente even by Italian standards. Flavor wasnât too bad. Blue crab spaghetti: crab was good if you like it sweet but you have to take it out of its tiny shell yourself and it was a bit messy. Couldnât eat the pasta since it was so salty (they were kind enough to take the pasta off the bill).
Service: ummm I want to say we speak English and not Italian, but my family members who drink had to fight for their lives to order a white wine. The waitress said they didnât have white wine??? They do. They also didnât bring the bar menu so we didnât get to see what they had to offer till I asked if they had no alcohol drinks. The girls struggled to explain the dishes and seemed very low energy which considering they were at the start of the shift.
Overall, would not...
Read moreI do not recommend staying at the hotel. We had no AC for our two night stay. On the first night there was no one at the front desk and a gentleman from the restaurant tried to help us but he could not find anyone to help. We ended up laying in bed smelling fish from the restaurant cleaning up out back, doors slamming until midnight and mosquitoes flying into the room because there are no screens on the windows.
They were unable to resolve the air the next day and did not respond to our email or phone calls. When we returned in the evening there was once again no one at the front desk.
Two stars for...
