The owners have a gold mine here: in high season, you pay 45 euro for three beds and a parasol, although it is a really small beach. I have never paid so much in Italy for such an incredibly crammed place. They basically squish in every possible sunbed on the beach and the surrounding solariums to make as much money as possible. The first row is literally touching the water. This results in people sitting really tightly together, no possibility of moving the sunbed even 5 cm to adjust to the moving shade of the parasol (and that is why people pay for a parasol, to have a shade). People finish up arguing over missing space as soon as someone moves a sunbed. The food at the restaurant is good but portions are small comparing the prices. All in all a clean, nicely held lido with good food, snacks and offer. It would be a 5* place with more space for...
Read moreLovely little beach club in vico equense. We could access it for free as we were staying at the hotel Astoria which is owned by the same group. Such professionalism and friendliness throughout. Lovely sun beds were reserved for us with a short walk down the stairs to the beautiful clear sea. We also had lunch in their restaurant and the food was very tasty and fresh. We went back the next day as well and managed to get a last minute sun lounger in the afternoon and went to their cafe instead for Panninis which was a lot kinder on the bank balance. Overall though, prices are very fair! It's a bit of a walk down a steep hill from vico equense town, but luckily our hotel provided a free shuttle which made things...
Read moreWas really hoping there was a bar/restaurant at the bottom of this super long hill..and there was. Actually a bunch of them. This place was pretty crowded. But my gf and I were able to get a seat near the bar and with a water view (every seat has a water view) very quickly. Got the gnocchi (A, exactly what I wanted, cheesy, tomato saucy goodness), and fried calamari/squid (B+, lightly fried, no marinara sauce. My gf prefered this to the gnocchi. We actually switched plates). And two grande beers. 30 euro. Awesome views. We should have...
