ラビスタ伊豆山 — Attraction in Atami

I've been to many hotels in Japan and even this hotel chain ones, but this one is not as good as I expected.||First, their service is not as good as they claim. Although I can understand Japanese, I expected the front desk would talk to me in English at first when I checked in, since she knew I'm foreigner. Their ad says "foreign language available", but the person did my check-in said that she can only speak Japanese. The weirdest part is: when I did check-out in the front desk and my mom (over 65) standing beside the gate with 2 big luggage, no one asked her if they need to bring the luggage into the shuttle bus, which was about to leave, even though there were nearly 10 people near the gate waiting to send the customers leaving. ||Second, I would suggest not going there on weekend or holidays because the hot spring (onsen) place is too small, and full of crowds easily. It's hard to get relaxed (same situation as in the restaurant.) ||Third, remember this hotel was transformed from an apartment, which means you need to go outdoors first if you want to go to restaurant or hot spring. As the property was initially a resort apartment residence and not a hotel, rooms are actually fully equipped and spacious.||The dinner was way better than at similar properties, with a high-quality buffet in addition to tasty and copious dishes prepared and served at the table. The 60-minute all you can drink is good value, and the breakfast buffet was also well appointed.||The hot spring, although quite small, is pleasant and accessible from inside the hotel.||The property is also barrier-free, as our family included a wheelchair-bound senior.||Prices are more attractive if you avoid Fridays and Saturdays and the shuttle service||from and back to Atami...
