Hashiri-yu — Attraction in Atami

Beautiful little spot that few people know about. It is rarely busy. It's a short 20 minute visit at most behind a group of unassuming buildings right on the ocean. It is a tunnel containing a large natural opening where you can see the source water for all of the hot springs in Atami. It's hot and steamy like a sauna so you can only be in there for 5 minutes at a time. There is a small shrine above ground to visit. It's a beautiful view and I believe there is a small restaurant/hotel right in front. It's a short drive from the center of town. Worth a stop! It's free to visit, and there is a small lot in front of the hotel to stop your car. You pretty much drive right up to it. Very little walking involved if you drive...

「日本三大古湯」走り湯 洞窟＆絶景足湯！スポットです。 熱海の由来と言われているのは、熱い温泉が、海に流れてお魚が死んでしまった。ところから「熱い海」からの熱海とも言われているそうです。

洞窟は探検に出かけるみたい。スチームで奥がみえないので、ワクワクドキドキしますよー。 横穴式の源泉。スチームサウナ状態です。流れているお湯は７０度超えているのでご注意を！真夏に入ると、出てきたら、外はクーラーがかかっているかのよう（なくらい中が蒸し暑い。）

そして、この源泉を使った足湯があります。足湯があることを知らないと、そこに人がいても足湯とは思えないような！海を眺めながら気持ちよく足湯。温度が高すぎるときもありますが。。 毎日、伊豆山温泉の組合のホテルが順番にやってくれるようですが、ある日は供給されてませんでした
