Bella Foresta — Restaurant in Hakone

Had lunch here. A relatively mediocre buffet ensemble, limited choices. The food quality and taste can be a real hit-or-miss.

The fried dishes (think karaage, tempuras etc) can be decent with the appropriate amount of condiments added. The fish - cold, fishy and bland. Should skip it altogether. The noodles, ramen ... Somewhat of an acquired taste, not for everyone. The curry rice was nothing special. The drink bar is acceptable. The desserts were pretty much the only saving grace.

If you favor quantity over quality, this place can be okay. The food isn't exactly the best tasting but far from unpalatable.

Avoid this place like the plague. After 3 weeks in Japan, this is without a doubt the worst place we have eaten. The selection of available foods were cold, old, and tasteless. Anything deep-fried tasted like the oil had never been changed and none of the fruit or vege was fresh. This is a tourist trap that must be avoided at all costs. This is officially the worst restaurant where I have ever eaten in Japan, including convenience stores and street stalls in the middle of nowhere. The price of over 4000yen for 2 people is a total rip off. The value of the food we consumed is 500yen at best. Terrible quality, no service, the definition of a tourist trap.
