My wife and I booked one night at Hotel Hiroshima Garden Palace on 03/28/14 for one night after choosing a Hotwire hot rate on Hotwire.com for $65.41, American Currency. The Hotel is about 10 minutes away from Hiroshima Station IF you go out the right direction from the station. We made the mistake of going out the main entrance of Hiroshima Station upon arrival and it took about 25 minutes to walk to the station from the front. So my advice is go out the correct exit and save yourself the time. When we arrived at the hotel the staff spoke English well enough to check us in and answer all the questions we had. The room itself is small for western standards but comfortable and clean. I will say that out of all the hotels we stayed at in Japan this hotel felt a little dated, the walls and carpet appeared a bit old. But overall our stay was comfortable and the room was quiet. The bed was a little on the hard side for my taste and the pillows were somewhat flat. My wife, however, stated the bed was comfortable and the duvet was soft. We did not have any heat or air conditioner issues like the one reviewer that posted on trip advisor. When we checked out that hotel staff let us keep our luggage at the hotel, this is pretty much a standard for Japanese Hotels. This is an awesome perk for an American who is used to having to pay hotels to hold luggage in big US cities. The wifi was free and it was easy to connect and it was relatively fast. The hotel has a restaurant and parking but we did not utilize either of these and chose to go to a Ramen Shop just down the street that was recommended by the hotel clerk. Overall I would say this is around a 3 star hotel from an American Standpoint, but the staff are very accommodating and friendly which makes it closer to a 3.5. I would stay here again if I am ever in the Hiroshima area. A tip: Visit the Hiroshima Museum and Memorial while you are here, its crowded but an excellent lesson concerning the effects...

Read moreIt’s a bit pricey 17,200Yen/twin room/1 night. Since other hotels were fully booked.||This hotel is not close to Hiroshima Station. It took nearly 10 minutes walk. It might be hard for you to find hotel you need to check google map to find the way to hotel. When hotel is booked it should provide a map to the guest. Hotel is a bit outdated but you have all facilities you need (shower, toilet, bed, electric kettle, refridgerator, working desk). We checked in early and the staff is helpful and offered to take all our luggages into one room before check in time.||||It’s very hard to walk through 2 beds (1big1small) which covered bed room space. You need to remove bed cover/blanket to make room for you to walk in and out easily. You find very few space left for you to take out stuff from your luggage. The room was not the same as that of pictures shown on advertisement. ||Moreover, you felt uncomfortable to sit on such a low armchair which was unfit to the working desk in the room. Hotel should advise guest how to adjust central air conditioning. Guest felt it’s very warm even early Spring. The weather...
