I had such a great time staying here. There are two main reasons I chose this hotel. First is because the room size is bigger than 200 ft2. I used to take room size for granted, but you have to check when travelling in Japan because sometimes their rooms are super tiny.
Second, this hotel is very conveniently located near the Hiroshima Station. Not only does it take you only about 10 minutes to get to the station, along the way there are many food places, groceries, and, most importantly, electric bike rental stations. I used bikes extensively so it was great that there was a station just by the hotel.
Those were things I looked for, but here are the things that the hotel came with. First, laundry facilities. Now, that might be common, but what's cool is that you can monitor the laundry status from your room's TV. That means that you don't have to hang out in a dinky laundry room. Not that their laundry room was dinky lol. It even has a vending machine.
Another option was you could hang out in their onsen (that's what they call the public baths, right?), which was their second bonus. That's right, this hotel has their own onsen, which was free for guests.
Third, they have a nice breakfast buffet in the morning - and, again, you can check how busy the restaurant was from the TV before going downstairs.
Fourth, have I mentioned the TV? Besides being able to check on the status of the laundry and the restaurant, the TV also comes with a selection of movies and cartoons, even international and foreign ones. Although, everything was dubbed into Japanese so that's that.
Fifth, for the coffee heads, the room comes with its own coffeemaker!
Lastly, it's worth mentioning that they allowed me to check in early, although understandably I couldn't get the room until later. Which didn't matter cause I'm happy to tour the city since they happily stored the luggage for me.
About the only thing I might complain about this hotel is the lack of anywhere to hang a towel in the bathroom.
So all in all, highly recommended. Thanks for making my stay...
Read moreStay away from the dormitory!
This place has generally good reviews but don't make the mistake I did, most of the good reviews are for the private rooms while the dormitory ones are generally bad.
I have no problems with the actual facilities: The bed cabin is big and fairly comfy. The room itself is small but if you just need a small private space it gets the job done. Breakfast is serviceable(not good, not bad). Bathrooms are generally clean and the location is excellent.
However, unless you are a level 5 grandmaster at sleeping through noise under no circumstances should you come here. The cabin doors are the single loudest thing I've heard in my life. People routinely come in and out of the rooms all night, eat, drink and the occasional person who thinks it's perfectly normal to moan loudly for everyone to hear.
In addition to hallway light is insanely bright and will undoubtedly wake you up if the sound hasn't(if you're somehow lucky enough to be deaf). The hotel does nothing to combat this by say easily enforcing a curfew of say "Don't make noise after 23:30 and be decent human please? Your sharing a room with others"
Honestly I've stayed in a ton of hostels this place is far worse than most of the ones that I've been to in Japan. I really hope they read this review and do something because otherwise this place is excellent. If they just replace the doors with anything else(like a curtain) and give people clear notices of "please don't make noise after 23:30"(yes people are that small minded sometimes that they need to be told such...
Read moreThe capsule room has a large space for the bed, but maybe not enough for storage, depending on the bag you bring. AC worked fine and air circulation was decent. Expect the same noise and disturbance from the hallway lights as any capsule hotel, which is not a problem for me. The shared bathrooms were clean and furnished with amenities. The hotel offers towels, slippers and sleepwear, and gives another kit for gusts staying for more than one night. Breakfast didn't have too many options but had enough for me as a Westerner. Location of this hotel is perfect, 2 or 3 blocks from the main Hiroshima station. This hotel was good for the price paid and I'll certainly stay there again...
