Daikomyoji is a temple beside the Fushimi Rikyu in 1339, when the emperor Go-Fushimi (1288-1336) and Saionji Neishi of the Hirogimonin mourn the emperor's bodhisattva before the construction of Sokokuji. Was started, and the emperor's law, Daikomyō-in, was named as a temple. Her empress was well supported by the Northern Court as the mother of Emperor Kogon, Emperor Kogon, Emperor Kogon, and Emperor Komyō. I was struck. There are many songs written by her, such as "Tamahashu" and "Shinsenzaishu". It has been a family temple dedicated to the mortuary tablets of the Fushimi-no-miya family since it was buried and enshrined in the temple by the prince Yoshihito Fushimi-no-miya, the grandson of her empress. After that, it was temporarily exhausted, and although it was hit by a fire during the Keicho era, it was revived as the head of the Shokokuji Temple by Ieyasu Tokugawa in the first year of Genna (1615). In 1903, the temple area of Shinkain was merged with Shinkain at the top of the tower, Daikomyoji, which was burned down by the Great Fire of Tenmei at that time, and Jotokuin, which had already been abolished. The temple name will be revived as Daikomyoji. The wooden statue of Meio Zen Master, the founder of Jotokuin, is enshrined in this temple. It is also the tower of Ashikaga Yoshihisa, the 9th Shogun of Ashikaga (a resident of Jotokuin, the great minister of the country, Michiharu Etsuyama). Successive priests include Saisho Shotai (Shokokuji 92nd), Meiji Zen Master Hagino Dokuon Zen Master (Shokokuji 126th, Tokusumi 1st), and in recent years Otsu Saido Zenshi (Shokokuji 130th, Tokusumi 5). The world) is here. (Source: From the Shokokuji website) At Daikomyoji Temple, which is the 4th temple of the 13th Buddha Sacred Ground in Kyoto, you can get the red stamp of "Fugen Bosatsu" of the principal idol. Passing through the gate, you will find the "Gabi Mountain Garden" of the dry garden.
