Kyoto Confectionery Museum — Attraction in Kyoto

京菓子は、千年の都であった京都で、常に和菓子の文化をリードしてきましたが、その京菓子文化の資料館がこの施設です。京菓子ばかりでなく、日本の菓子文化を歴史的に考察して、復元し得るものは復元し、また、京菓子づくりに使われた小道具や、御所御用の資料、古文書、容器などに加えて、京菓子界の後進の指導に情熱をそそいだ京菓匠・留治郎翁の作品とその関係の品々も展示している。なお、１階には茶室も備えており、気軽に一服の茶が楽しめます。お抹茶と季節のお菓子で700円です。 Kyogashi has always led the culture of Japanese sweets in Kyoto, the capital of the millennium, and the museum of Kyogashi culture is this facility. I don't really want to rate this museum, as I just think they were having an off day. Not very well laid out for foreigners, but very good staff. Part of the museum was not open. Some amazing exhibits well worth going for. Though if you only have a short time in Kyoto, there are much better...
