The bell tower is called "Kyonro" by one person. It was burnt by the fire of Tenmei, and in April 1789, I bought an old bell and hung it on a temporary tower to build the current layered building in 1843. Also known as the "Hakama-waisted bell tower," it is currently one of the largest large ones. A bonsho is hung on the roof, and there are numerous inscriptions in each section. It is known to have been built in 1629, with the words "Kanei Kanei Rokumi Yin Earth Snake 7th" after complaining that the climate is favorable, there are no disasters or wars, the country is rich and the people are at peace. In 2007, it became a tangible cultural property designated by Kyoto Prefecture. (Source: Shokokuji HP) The Sokokuji bell tower is located between the three girders and the two girders, and is the main tiled roof of the Irimoya-zukuri. The Shokokuji bell tower is a hakama with a wide lower layer. The bell tower is based on Zen Buddhism and incorporates Japanese style.
