2-Day Kyoto Itinerary | Classic Eats & Sights for First-Timers

I recently visited Kodaiji Park in Kyoto during my trip to Japan this March, and I must say that it was an unforgettable experience. We visited the park at night, and it was illuminated beautifully, creating a magical and romantic atmosphere. The trees were colorfully lighted and there was even a light show that added to the park's charm. The park itself is incredibly scenic and offers stunning views of the surrounding area, including the nearby Kodaiji Temple. The various gardens and ponds throughout the park are meticulously maintained, and the overall ambiance of the park is peaceful and serene. My favorite part of the park was the bamboo grove, which was especially beautiful at night with the gentle illumination creating a surreal atmosphere. The walking paths were well-lit and easy to navigate, allowing us to fully appreciate the park's beauty even in the darkness. Overall, I highly recommend visiting Kodaiji Park, especially at night when it's illuminated. The colorful lighting of the trees and the light show are a spectacle to behold, and the stunning scenery will leave you with a lasting impression. Don't miss out on this gem of a park in Kyoto!

A nice and quiet little park right in the middle of several points of interest. It's very close to the very busy Kiyomizu temple grounds but you wouldn't know it to sit here. It's also just below a temple dedicated to the bodhisattva Kannon which is an impressive site as well. The park itself is small and there's not much to it other than some benches and trees, but that's more or less what you want in a little urban park anyway. A very nice spot to sit and have some coffee or plan your next steps. There are public restrooms immediately adjacent as well.
