At first a was a bit reluctant to ride in the carriage pushed by a human being, but it was a surprise gift from my husband, so it was happening. But to be honest, the more we rode (our trip was 70 min), the more I realized how professional and proud of what they do rickshaws are. Our wonderful guy from Osaka laughed when in the end I was panicking that he had to pull us up the road, he even made a joke that he might be offended if I think that he is not strong enough or tired :) The rout is smartly designed so there is mostly down or flat roads, the carriage itself is designed to help and offset the weight of the passengers and the bodies of every rickshaw we saw were amazingly strong and muscular. At first, they lure you saying they will take you to all these places for 10,000 yen, then they try to sell more expensive packet, then when we come back to 10,000 packet they now say they can take you only certain place.
In the beginning, they even told us that they can drop us off flexibly at any place, but they ended up dropping off at their garage for their convenience, telling us that the company requires them to drive through certain route.
