✨ A Hidden Gem in Kyoto – Glänta is Pure Magic for Families! ✨
Our family of four—two parents, a preteen daughter, and a teenage son—had the absolute best time at Glänta Kyoto. It was, hands down, one of the most memorable and soul-nourishing experiences of our entire trip to Japan.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with such warmth and intentionality. The space itself is stunning—minimalist yet cozy, with natural materials and soft light that instantly calms your spirit. You feel like you’ve stepped into a modern sanctuary rooted in tradition and nature.
We were immediately struck by the thoughtful design and family-friendly approach. Our daughter was enchanted by the sensory details—the smells, the sounds, the textures. Our son, who usually keeps a cool front, was fully engaged and even said, “This is actually really cool,” which is high praise from a teen! The experience invited all of us to slow down, be present, and connect in a way we rarely get to at home.
The interactive elements—whether it was a tea ritual, crafting with natural materials, or simply lying back and listening to curated soundscapes—were beautifully paced and meaningful. We weren’t just observers; we were invited into an experience that honored curiosity, reflection, and connection.
As parents, we appreciated how Glänta nurtures emotional wellness in such an artful way. It was grounding without being preachy, artistic without being abstract. It offered our family a pause in the midst of our busy itinerary—and we left feeling lighter, closer, and genuinely recharged.
To the team at Glänta: thank you. You’ve created something incredibly special. This isn’t just a stop on a tourist map—it’s an experience that stays with you.
Highly, highly recommended—especially for families who want to connect on a deeper level while...
Read moreIf I could give negative, I would have. Staff, male, young boy in spectacles, working in your shop today 23 Sept 2024, around 5ish pm, you can show him my profile picture and see whether he remembers me. You should be ashamed of yourself. My husband queue in line and told me he wanna get us some bracelet, which he told me to go look at the counter ( where the staff is working there) to see what do I like to get. The boy told me I am not supposed to stand here and ask me to stand in line. Eh hello, please don’t tell me what ever restrictions you have that we need to stay in line or what. My husband is still in the queue, and I just wanna take a look at what your shop has to offer, nothing more than 2 mins. I told the staff, I wasn’t disturbing, how can I be disturbing anyways, I am just merely standing in the counter taking a look. The staff told me “No you can’t stand here, please get back to your line”. So I told my husband, let’s go, don’t waste our time queuing for something that the staff don’t even let me take a look ???? Zero service, i don’t recommend anyone to join the queue or even visit the shop, why pay the money, but still don’t get the basic service required which is taking a look at your products? You have no manners at all dude. Go back to school and brush up your...
Read moreWe saw a few negative reviews before coming but here are our thoughts. Anything negative said about this place must have had some kind of special situation attached to it. Maybe the place was unusually packed or maybe the clients were being intolerant and impatient. My fiancée and I learned some Japanese and communicated to the best extent of our ability and the staff was by far the most respectful and service oriented people we have encountered in Kyoto. They helped us with absolutely everything, guiding us along the way and also congratulating us on our wedding that is soon coming up. We also had to resize one of the rings and they helped us even when the store was notably busy and did so with a smile on their face. Be respectful, be mindful that even if you are walking into a store and the staff is there to serve you, that you are in a different country with a different culture that values patience and politeness. We would recommend this place to anyone that needs a custom made ring....
