We encountered this about halfway up the Thousand Torii Gates (Fushimi Inari Shrine). Even though the area is decently crowded, this is the ideal vantage/turning point as the area further upwards is about the same as torii gates below, but with a lot more...

It is quite a hike to get up to this observation deck, but it is so worth it! You can gaze down at Kyoto in the valley, surrounded by the mountains. It’s really lovely and impressive. I highly recommend taking the extra time and energy to make your way up here!

It is quite a hike to get up to this observation deck, but it is so worth it! You can gaze down at Kyoto in the valley, surrounded by the mountains. It’s really lovely and impressive. I highly recommend taking the extra time and energy to make your way up here!
