⛩️ "Gozendani, or Gozenya is located behind the northern peak of Mt. Inari. In ancient times, there was a dining hall and a hearth in this area, and it was used by the gods. Of the Seven Sacred Sites where sacred offerings were made.. This is one of them. The Oyama Festival held every January 5th is based on a historical event. Nakagumi sake is served in a sacred earthenware vessel and placed on a sacred stone called "Ozenishi". A ritual offering is held."

This is about 70-80% way up the mountain before reaching the summit. This is also where you can receive the last of 3 goshuin along the mountainpath. I reached just before closing time, and it was slightly drizzling, the staff were already closing the shutters when I ran to them and asked for a goshuin. Luckily, the nice lady there quickly reopened the shutters and wrote one for me. Thank you!

Lots of walking if you plan to go to the top. Lots of spiders in the torii when I went in September, also very hot. In November, the maple leaves had just started to turn and the temperature was perfect. Beginning of May there were already a lot of foreign tourists and it was somewhat hot.

I love the fox/kitsune protective amulets and other souvenirs. Enjoying the nature element and religious elements were my favorite part of this location. I went three times. Favorite...
