We had a beautiful visit to the Camellia Garden!

Our host explained the history of tea ceremony in Japan, the practice of farming and preparing matcha tea, and the technique for making tea at the right temperature and texture. She demonstrated the tea ceremony and also helped us make matcha correctly ourselves.

The tea room and gardens are beautiful, and the experience was very tranquil.

Reservations are recommended at least three days in advance, especially during spring. Our host spoke excellent English and was happy to explain everything in...

We had an amazing experience at Camellia. The house and the gardens are impressive. Maya welcomed us and performed the tea ceremony. She is so kind and elegant. The ceremony was perfect, and combined all the characteristics that Maya explained to us before: harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility. We could also make our own tea later on. The tea tasted so good. The explanations by Maya were very detailed and in perfect English. In Camellia they also have a small shop and we bought a tea ceremony set. We really enjoyed our tea...

My husband and I were hosted by Maki-San for our tea ceremony. She has elegance, grace and has studied and practiced her art to perfection. Every movement was mindful, purposeful, beautiful. She demonstrated harmony, respect, respect and tranquility with each gesture throughout the ceremony. She taught us how to bring mindfulness and calm to our usually rushed morning hot caffeinated beverage routine in just a few extra minutes. The beauty of the gardern, the tea house and rooms adds tranquility to the experience I highly recommend
