Denshin-An, 伝心庵. Our “home” for two nights in Kyoto. A traditional Japanese home with a history of more than 100 years.

以心伝心, a form of communication through mutual understanding without spoken words. This idiom best describes Denshin-An, the host and his team.

From the architecture, the zen garden, interior decoration, the beddings, sleep wear and toiletries, all attributes a sense of exquisite beauty. The host had shown us that his guests are precious and deserved to be pampered and nurtured.

I had two nights of deep and good sleep in the villa, my travel buddies too! I was reminded again that we are worthy of nurturing and pampering ourselves. To Pause and Rest.

We love the place so much that we decided to stay in the villa and chill on the second day! The host also gave us a Japanese tea ceremony on the day we checked out. What a wonderful experience from the beginning till the end of our stay!

Thank you Denshi-An, the host and the team once again!

With love and...

Absolutely gorgeous traditional Japanese style 110year old house with all the modern mod cons (underfloor heating, aircon, self-heating bath etc )💯🇯🇵🥰 We loved the design of this home - very simple yet esthetically beautiful with the fine attention to the detail throughout the property. The garden covered in moss is stunning and we enjoyed having a tea by the window overlooking it...sooo relaxing and peaceful🙏. This was our first time sleeping on futons which were so comfy! Mr Yu was fantastic and so welcoming, he brought us Japanese style breakfast (reasonable charge) which was delicious. We have only stayed 1 night which wasn't enough! Thank you so much Mr Yu for your lovely hospitality, we miss...

This place is absolutely perfect. We will stay here again if we return to Kyoto.

It is not in the main downtown area. We spent 2 nights in downtown and 2 nights on the west side in Denshin-An, doing that for our first visit was perfect for us to prioritize activities in each area. Now I can return to Kyoto and stay on the west side only 😄 It's quieter and cuter, and this place made it perfect. This is an old traditional home that is very well taken care of. The gardens are beautiful, the house...

It’s an amazingly beautiful and well-maintained property. It has literally everything u will need for a good vacation stay including a well equipped kitchen! It comes with a big gorgeous garden and u will wake up to an amazing view of red leaves during the autumn leaf viewing season . The property owner is very hospitable and accommodating, best service u will receive in any hotel in Japan these days . Highly recommended, can’t say enough about this place !
