Probably the best cafe in Kyoto. We stumbled upon this beautiful cafe after our lunch in the street. The street itself is popular for it its Okonomiyaki but this cafe is in a different range! It is quite a small place with just a few seats, but it’s worth the wait. Nice and stylish interior. They serve mainly Madeleines, Cheese Cake and Brownies to their coffee. The coffee itself is a drip coffee from changing origin. For me one of the best coffees in Kyoto. Smooth but also quite complex taste. The Madeleine was one of the best I ever had. Unfortunately when we arrived we were told that all of the donuts and cheesecakes were reserved even though there were about 20 behind the counter?! Never heard of this in a cafe before and really disappointing when you've come all the way especially. We had a coffee outside which tasted good but we could not stop thinking about those custard donuts sitting inside going nowhere. We were unfortunately informed that all custard donuts & cheesecakes were fully reserved & all indoor seats were taken. Although 2 outdoor seats were available, we decided to leave as those were the popular items.
Pretty disappointed as we made a trip down all the way from central Kyoto via taxi, squeezing this into our schedule.
