I believe it is a lesser-known Buddhist Temple located near the east gate of Ninnaji. I was passing by and decided to stop because I could see many Buddha statues and a temple colored with pink. Its peaceful atmosphere and the garden was really beautiful to watch. I was the only one there visiting, and a friendly monk came out of the temple and we started talking in a very friendly manner. He was kind enough to let me ring the big bell outside in the garden. I got my 御朱印 (stamp) at the office at the entrance. I had a very beautiful staying, beautiful temple and, personally, the most heart touching experience. Recommended!! Enjoy it :)

Also, the best place to enjoy late-blooming Cherry blossom, always reasonably crowded and enjoyable. 500m walk to the Norse from Mimuro-Ninnaji St. on Keifuku-Kitano Line takes you to Ninnaji-Nio-Mon with gentle up slope. 1 km more walk to the Eastern-Norse direction would make you enjoy Ryoanji, also good and famous place, killing half a day.

近畿三十六不動尊霊場の参拝でお伺いしました。 真言宗御室派の別格本山のお寺で五智山蓮華寺といい不動尊霊場第十五番札所になり、蓮華寺の御本尊は阿弥陀如来になります。 天喜五年(1057年)に後冷泉天皇の勅願により藤原康基が広沢池の近くに開創しやがて「仁和寺の奥之院」とされた。 その後応仁の乱の兵火に遭い寺地を鳴滝音戸山の山上に移し長い荒廃の時代が続いた、寛永十八年(1641年)に伊勢国生まれの江戸の豪商出身の常信(樋口平太夫家次)が再興し、仁和寺の寛深法親王から「五智山蓮華寺」の寺号を改めて安堵された。 今日も境内にその姿を見ることができる五智如来石像(大日如来・阿弥陀如来・釈迦如来・宝生如来・薬師如来)もこの時期に常信が木食僧担称に依頼して作成させたものである、また五智不動尊の修理も依頼している。 昭和三年(1928年)仁和寺の東隣である現在地に寺地を移す、昭和三十三年(1958年)に五智如来石像をはじめとして音戸山に残されて離散・損傷していた石仏群を収集して修理して境内にあらためて祀った。 境内の岩の祠の中に石造り不動明王が鎮座しその祠を囲むように不動堂が建てられている、不動堂の中には寛朝大僧正が円融天皇中宮藤原詮子のために安産を祈ったといわれる弘法大師が刻んだ五智不動が祀られているが通常は非公開です。 平成二十七年(2015年)に本堂を再建し落慶...
