Amazing Stay at a Charming Hotel We had an incredible stay at this hotel! While it is an older property, it exceeded our expectations in every way.

Friendly and Accommodating Staff The staff was so friendly and went above and beyond to help us as foreigners. Their warm hospitality truly made our stay special.

Delicious and Fresh Breakfast The traditional breakfast was absolutely delicious and fresh every morning. P.S. If you visit during the winter like we did, the breakfast area on the top floor offers an amazing view of the snow-covered mountains!

Unbelievably Clean The cleanliness of the room was unreal. For an older hotel, it was spotlessโ€”especially the glass surfaces, which were gleaming and cleaner than anything weโ€™ve seen, even in luxury hotels. Like no joke, normally this would be dull or scratched. The staff here KNOWS HOW TO CLEAN!

Convenient Location and Quiet Rooms The hotelโ€™s location is fantastic, just a 5-minute walk from Nagano Station, making it super convenient for travel. Even though our room was close to the street, it was very quiet, with only the faint sound of trains, which added to the charm.

Exceptional Service What touched us the most was the thoughtful service. Even though we didnโ€™t request room cleaning(Do not disturb), the staff left us a bag with fresh towels. Weโ€™ve stayed in many hotels, including 5-star ones, and have never experienced such care and attention.

Highly Recommend! We highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in the Nagano area. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so memorable. We truly appreciate...

I had a pleasant, 4 night stay at Chisun Grand Nagano. Room 915 was spacious and clean. Everyone at Reception was courteous and helpful. The massage chair inside the room was very useful after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel is a 6 minute walk from Nagano Station, and if you have too many luggage, there are plenty of taxis just outside the station to take you. It cost me 700 yen for the ride to the hotel. I would definitely stay at this hotel again on my next trip to Nagano. The only thing that I would change would be to stay in a room that you can open the window so that fresh air can come in. The hotel would save in heating costs because it would not be necessary to turn on the air conditioner if the window can be opened to let the cool air in.

Three places that I highly recommend while staying here: One is restaurant SOUSAKU 28 for tempura, buckwheat noodles (order in 3 or 5 bunches), and the fried chicken. I did not have a chance to try their grilled duck. The chefs here are at another level. From all the food that comes out of the kitchen, it is evident that the chefs are very well trained. The second one is YAYOIZA restaurant which is just outside of Zenkoji Temple. They steam beef and vegetables in a bamboo tray. Delicious. The third place is BENIBENI for apple pie. Inside these puff pastries are custard and cubed apples. This shop is at the entrance of Zenkoji Temple. You can take a nice stroll around the temple grounds where you can hear monks chanting and see newlywed couples taking their...

Breakfast here was wonderful! It's on the top level 12th floor of the hotel with great views over the city (or just white mist if it's a misty day), and super relaxing music. The dining area has a tatami mat floor, so remember to take your shoes off. Great selection of food, with your usual Western eggs, bacon, sausage, salad, toast, cereal, fruit, as well as a lovely selection of Japanese foods - beef donburi, teriyaki salmon, egg roll, hamburg, congee, pickles, soba, soybean eggplant, and more. My favorite thing was that there were different tiny cute plates and bowls beside each dish, so that you could compose your own beautiful breakfast set on a tray. Also great for watching your portions, as this is a buffet. A wonderful start to the day, for only 20 AUD.

Rooms were a little bit dated (creaky wardrobe) but perfectly comfortable and a super spacious floor area for opening up your suitcases. Hard bed as per usual for Japan.

A lovely amenities area downstairs in the lobby where you can have free coffee/hot chocolate or matcha latte from the machine, and collect your own tea sachets, toiletries, etc. There's also a wall of cards you can take to the reception to borrow items for free - weighing scales, adapters, extra blanket, etc.

8 minutes walk from the train station and restaurants,...

5-10 minutes walk from Nagano station. Although the hotel seems rather old (from the 80s-90s) the room was nice, clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly as well. The reception lounge also had complimentary drinks, coffee, tea, chocolate, which was nice. Breakfast was buffet, traditional Japanese breakfast style, with some western dishes like scrambled eggs and sausages. Really good spread, atypical Japanese breakfast items like stewed daikon and fish, miso eggplant, and onsen egg among others. They tasted really good too, and gives a warm and homely feeling which made me very happy (both in stomach and heart). Not to mention the restaurant was on the 12th floor, so you get a nice view of the townscape and trains passing by. Tldr, it was a nice stay for what it was worth, even by Japanese standards.
