Compass Nagano — Hotel in Nagano

We stayed at Compass AirBnb for 2 nights and it is absolutely 100% recommended.

The location is pretty close to the city center and Nagano Central Station. We arrived there by car and even though there is no private parking there are few reasonably priced options just in front of the accommodation for 1100 yen/24 hours.

The apartment we stayed in is located on the 4th floor which offers a pretty nice view. It was clean and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen and comfortable beds. There are also a washing machine and a drier located on the 5th floor.

The communication with the host was great at all times from when we did the reservation till the moment of checkout and everything is automated via a lock at the door.

This is an Air B&B, so there is no room service. Fantastic location 10 minutes to the Nagano train station. Great lodgings for the price. Note no elevator, so if lugging luggage up to 5 floors is not your thing, then skip this place. As of the date of posting, there is a big building being constructed across the road, and the apartment overlooks a busy road. The double sliding glass doors keep the noise out, though. I can only speak for the room on the fifth floor. If you have luggage, the fifth floor is a nightmare to get into and come out. The toilet is a bit dated, no bathtub, and and you can hear the noise from the street. We were booked in to this venue by our travel agent but after spending a couple of hours there we decided to go to another place instead. 3 stars, because it might be very good for students, backpackers or families travelling on a budget.
