The location is great, just a 3 minutes walk away from Nagano station.
They are an eco hotel, which means they don't clean your room every day unless you place the magnetic request at your door. There's also an option for the staff to simply place new towels at your doorknob instead of them entering the room; I like this option as it's non-intrusive and it meets my needs. With this said, you can refill or try out new shampoo/shower gel on level 1. There were also several pillows for you to choose. There was a fairly hard one which suited me.
The room is small, but the layout was in a way space-saving. We had enough room to open up 2 luggages. Not sure why we had a beanbag in the room though, that was unnecessary.
WiFi is fast; they change their wifi password for each room daily and you can check for the password using the TV. It's also possible to screencast to the TV. TV volume is maxed at 30.
In the hotel, there were coin-operated washing machines & dryers. There was even a LG Styler.
Check-ins and check-outs are self-service. There are machines for you to do so. There are also staff around to assist but they aren't very fluent in English.
If you wish to forward your luggage to your next hotel, the lead time is 3 days, which is a little long. Hence, I recommend guests who wish to forward their luggage to do so at the 7-11 nearby. Their ta-q-bin service is by Yamato, and their lead time is 1 day (request to be done by 12 noon).
If you drive, there is a paid parking lot next to the hotel. The hotel provides parking tickets at 800¥ per night. Parking ticket only pays for 3pm-10am.
Overall, nothing amazing but this hotel serves...
Read moreOur stay at Hotel New Nagano Next was truly exceptional, thanks to the outstanding hospitality of the hotel staff. A special mention to Nishinoiri-san from Rooms Division, who went above and beyond in assisting us with our TA-Q-BIN arrangement for our ski bag. He was incredibly patient in answering all our questions and made sure everything was handled smoothly—his attentiveness and professionalism were truly commendable!
Another highlight was the friendly Vietnamese staff who kindly helped us with a dinner reservation. Since we speak very limited Japanese, we had difficulty booking at a local restaurant, but she readily extended her help with warmth and efficiency. Her excellent English made the process seamless, and we really appreciated her kindness.
Beyond the top-notch service, the hotel itself is filled with thoughtful surprises and personal touches that made our stay even more delightful. Its prime location—just a stone’s throw from Nagano train station, bus stations, shopping malls, supermarkets, and restaurants—makes it incredibly convenient for travelers.
There is truly nothing to fault about this hotel. If you’re visiting Nagano, Hotel New Nagano Next is the perfect place to stay! It certainly deserves a much higher rating and we were so glad to have chosen it as our base hotel while exploring Nagano. Highly...
Read moreThis hotel is really a nice surprise and deserves a higher star rating. It's centrally and conveniently located near the main Nagano train station. It's still a quiet hotel but close to restaurants and Konbinis and only a few hundred meters from Don Quijote.
What surprised me the most - apart from the very friendly staff - was the huge selection of amenities, never in Japan had i have such a great and wide selection of lotions, face masks (!), hair products, epsom bath salts and special amenities für kids. It's really impressive and cute. 2nd highlight was the "pillow bar", where you can select your preferred pillow (high, low, memory foam, etc.).
And last but not least, they have a coffe/tea/donut time each day from 3 to 5pm (so cute) and you'll get a free drink from the vending machine (of your choice) per person and night.
This hotel really goes the extra mile, my stay was unfortunately just a short 2-night-stay but it was a very...
