What a luxurious and friendly hotel experience! Dormy Inn Premium was one of the best hotel stays we had during our 2 week trip to Japan, which included a Dormy Express as well. What stood out the most was just how much they gave to their guests, and how professional and friendly their staff was. Their very affordable breakfast buffet is abundant with options. Hot and cold drinks, different cooked meals, desserts of various kinds, generous bowls of succulent fruit (can be hard to find affordable fruit in Japan!), breads, jams, juices, and more - check out the pictures of the breakfast to get a better idea! There is late night ramen served for free (!) to guests. You can also go visit their extensive bath and sauna area, where you can also do your laundry (the washing part is free!) or pick up ice cream bars (also for free!). There's also (if I'm remembering correctly) a room where you can go read manga or Japanese books.

In addition, the room we stayed in was quiet, clean, and spacious enough to relax in. Bed was comfortable and there were plenty of regular amenities in the room (TV, fridge, pajamas, kettle, wifi, and more).

The area is also good, and centrally located. The hotel is right by a subway station - Fushimi - that has an underground food street you can walk along by going in/out of the entrance nearby. The streets feel quiet, relaxed, and safe. The subway station nearby is in the middle between two of the busiest spots in Nagoya - Nagoya station and Sakae station - one stop away from each!

Staff was always helpful, and spoke enough English to easily bridge the language barrier, making things even easier - though it always helps to try and learn some Japanese! Anywhere you go in Japan, the locals will appreciate your effort to speak and understand things in the local language, even if you only know a few phrases.

That all said, this was an amazing and affordable place to stay, and you won't go wrong in choosing this location if you want to stay in Nagoya. We stayed here to visit Ghibli Park, which is just about an hour's journey away, but the hotel itself made the visit extra memorable.
