Thank you for the wonderful experience of creating my first fragrance! The staff was friendly and helpful. My friend and I were warmly welcomed by Niwa-san. We came straight from the Shinkansen station to make our appointment due to a time crunch, and Niwa-san got us situated right away.
At first, I felt a bit overwhelmed by the number of scents and fragrances on display, but Kato-san was able to narrow down options based on my preferences and guided me through the process. Kato-san assisted us and gave great recommendations. It took about an hour and a half for us to create two fragrances, I made one for my girlfriend, and my friend created one for himself. Kato-san and Niwa-san were both very sweet and patient, making sure we were completely satisfied with the final products.
The entire experience was impressive and memorable, especially for my first time creating a fragrance in Japan. Thank you so much! If you ever visit Nagoya and want to create your own fragrance or a special gift, I highly recommend checking...
Read moreI went to My Only Fragrance in Nagoya to create a fragrance for myself, as well as one for a friend of mine. I booked easily by DM, but due to a change in my travel plans had to reschedule the appointment. The establishment‘s Instagram account was quick to respond and reschedule my appointment with no issue.
Mihara assisted me from beginning to end and was very patient and professional, and proved capable of translating my abstract descriptions and preferences into a fragrance that smelled pleasant and felt unique to myself. He was also very friendly and accommodating as a human being, and seemed genuinely interested in my personal story and perspective. Coming from the Middle East, this was the closest I felt to home since traveling to Japan.
It’s worth adding that the process itself is very enjoyable, and not just the end product. I highly recommend booking an appointment either for yourself or to create a very special and personal gift for...

Tucked away in a small shopping area off the Main Street, here is a cosy little shop where you can construct your own fragrances. There are sample bottles on offer for you to try, and very helpful staff will talk you through all the various smells on display. The procedure is you choose two or three base notes, throw in one accent and then determine how much of each will go into the finished product. You can even name your fragrance. 6000 yen a pop is a little hefty, but still cheaper than most name brands, and with a bit of know how you might even be able to make an approximation of your favourite scent (though I should mention that the shop is actually not allowed to make 1-1 copies of existing brand aromas!). It’s a fun different way to get your better half a present, and I’d definitely...
