平安時代初期貞観年間(850前後)の建立と伝わる高野山真言宗古刹です 本堂、山門、客殿等の主要な建造物は江戸時代中期元禄年間の建築で直島町指定有形文化財に指定されています 東側の山に鎮座する八幡神社、護王神社を含む広大な寺域だったようです 駐車場もあるので車でも大丈夫ですよ 北側には廃寺高原寺跡があり直島を治めた高原氏歴代墓所、直島出身軍人墓地があり歴史を感じる事が出来ます 夏場は蚊...
