I visited this family-run shop on the recommendation of my hotel after a visit to the Chūzen-ji Temple. Good selection of Nikko-bori at affordable prices; do check out their stunning Buddhist sculptures as well.

What is most memorable is the warmth and thoughtfulness of the owners. They are genuine in wanting to ensure shoppers leave with a gift / purchase which is special (read: personalised). I’m touched by how they gift wrap a set of rather humble key rings I bought. It’s the thought and little things that count 💛

I am blessed to able to pass-by this craft store, I took sometime to look around the store, the craved wooden craft is unique. I decided to get a name tag, the craftsman asked me what I want to crave beside my name, and I states “一期一会”， I am very grateful to have this for my journey as in this modern world, there is too many machine made products, with the handmade ones like this, bring me memories of my journey in Nikko and more connected to the place I have...

We have visited this beautiful shop a couple of weeks ago and we were amazed with the hospitality from this family. Knowing that we were from Portugal, the owner's daughter thanked in Portuguese for the purchase we did. Beautiful shop displaying really nice handicraft items, made with love.
