Title: A Cultural Oasis near Osaka Castle - Fujita Kuntsmuseum

My recent visit to Fujita Kuntsmuseum near Osaka Castle was an absolute delight. Located conveniently next to a subway train entrance, it offers easy access for visitors from various parts of the city.

The museum itself is housed in a spacious area, providing a serene and immersive experience. The main hall showcases real-time matcha making, allowing visitors to witness the traditional process and even taste the exquisite matcha and sencha paired with delicious mochi. The documentary film on traditional Japanese tea culture adds an educational touch, deepening the appreciation for this art form.

One of the highlights for me was the outdoor park surrounding the museum. The vast green space adorned with golden and red leaves created a breathtaking sight. The park is not only kid-friendly, with plenty of space for little ones to run and play, but it is also suitable for seniors who can enjoy leisurely walks amidst nature's beauty.

I highly recommend trying the sencha and red bean paste mochi during your visit. The flavors are delightful and perfectly complement the serene atmosphere of the museum and park.

For a truly magical experience, I suggest planning your visit around 3-4 pm to catch the mesmerizing sunset. The golden hues cast a warm glow over the surroundings, creating a picturesque and unforgettable moment.

In conclusion, Fujita Kuntsmuseum is a cultural oasis near Osaka Castle that offers a unique and immersive experience. From the fascinating matcha making process to the tranquil outdoor park, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Don't miss the opportunity to indulge in the sencha and red bean paste mochi while taking in the breathtaking sunset. A visit to Fujita Kuntsmuseum promises a memorable and enriching experience for visitors...

Our experience at this store was deeply disappointing, especially due to the way the staff treated us as foreigners.

From the moment we entered, we felt like we were constantly being watched. The staff repeatedly told us, “You can’t do this,” or “You can’t do that,” which made us feel very uncomfortable. We took just two photos inside to remember our visit, and immediately a staff member told us we were disturbing others. But there was no one else in the store at the time — who were we disturbing?

Later, some Japanese women came in and took photos as well, but the staff didn’t say anything to them. This difference in treatment made us wonder — were we treated this way just because we are foreigners?

When ordering, the staff was cold and unwelcoming, showing no friendliness or effort to communicate. I also tried to change clothes in the restroom, but the staff kept knocking on the door, giving me no privacy or time.

What was even more frustrating was that no matter where we stood in the store, if we stayed in one spot for even a short time, a staff member would come over and tell us we were “in the way” or “disturbing other customers.” But again, there were no other customers around. It felt like we weren’t allowed to exist in the space peacefully.

We respect store policies and understand the need for rules, but being treated differently just because we are foreigners is truly disappointing. We hope the store reflects on this and treats all customers with equal respect and fairness...

The Fujita Museum's collection was curated by Fujita Denzaburō, a prominent businessman during the Meiji era, along with his sons Heitarō and Tokujirō. Denzaburō, in response to the disconcerting fate of cultural artifacts traditionally held within the ancestral estates of feudal lords and religious institutions, post-Meiji Restoration, felt a compelling urgency. Many of these cultural treasures were either being sent abroad or subjected to neglect within Japan. Denzaburō, not merely a businessman but also an unwavering art enthusiast, a passion that endured despite early admonitions from his parents, was resolute in his commitment. He initiated the systematic acquisition of these pieces with a clear objective: "In this period, I shall accumulate artworks comprehensively, while concurrently preventing the dispersal of our national treasures." His successors inherited his ardor for artistic treasures and subsequently inaugurated the Fujita Museum in 1954 with the earnest aspiration that "these national treasures should not remain restricted as private assets. Instead, they should be made readily accessible to the global community, fostering collective appreciation amongst like-minded individuals and serving as invaluable research materials."

From its establishment until its temporary closure on June 11, 2017, the Fujita Museum was accommodated within the renovated treasury of the Fujita family residence, constructed during the Meiji and Taishō periods. This treasury, remarkably, endured the devastating 1945 Osaka air raid, which inflicted significant damage to the rest of the residence. The art collection housed within the treasury remained remarkably preserved. The newly established Fujita Museum, functioning as a "museum within a treasury," cherished for over six decades, aspires to transmit these inherited artworks to future generations, safeguarding their cultural significance and perpetuating their...
