私が訪れた時には閉門してあり17時までだそうです＾＾； 大山崎から長岡京市にかけては古墳群も多くて、こちらが邪馬台国・・なんてこともありかも＾＾；　と勝手に空想して楽しんでますが、上質の粘土も取れるのでしょうね。暗くて撮影は困難でしたが夜景がキレイなのと、電車好きにはたまらない路線がここから全て見られます。

平成16年(2004)12月の調査の結果で平安宮の所用瓦を焼成した平安時代前期の瓦窯が６基、まとまって発掘されました。当時、平安京周辺各地の多数の瓦窯で大量の瓦を生産し、平安宮・京の造営を支えたものと考えられ、大山崎瓦窯もその一つとされます。 ここで製作された瓦は平安宮朝堂院をはじめ、嵯峨院、河陽離宮に供給されました。2006年(平成18年)には、重要性が考慮され国の史跡に指定されています。 2008年には、7番目の窯が発見され、2009年には、更に8番目の窯が北約６ｍの崖で瓦窯の燃焼室の焚口が見つかっています。 この大山崎瓦窯跡の石碑が立っているちょうど真向かいに、天王山登山口と観...
