Restaurant Tagami — Restaurant in Oyamazaki

Truly a hidden gem for western food. Bear in mind this is a small town without the big city glitter and sophistication. Had the pasta set for lunch and it is served with an appetiser, baked bread and coffee. The appetiser was surprisingly good, as with the pasta. The wait staff can hardly speak English but it’s not an issue if u just pay attention to key words and body language. Our pasta was supposed to be fish spaghetti, but the result was more like stir fried ramen noodles with silverfish (think of baby sized anchovies). The taste was really full of farm natural wholesome goodness. Non greasy, nice balance of flavours and noodles (not pasta) cooked just right.

Would recommend this to anyone visiting the Distillery and in need of lunch. Japanese Italian ... but it’s good taste and very well done.

We had a great experience. This restaurant is Italian with a slight Japanese touch. We walked from the Suntory distillery. During lunch they have set meals. 大山崎山荘へ行った帰りに、たまたま見つけて入りました。20席ほどの小さなお店ですが、平日の昼なのに、ほぼ満席で、たまたま空いてた1テーブルにつけました。 ランチメニューはコースが3種類あって、私はパスタコース1,500円くらいのを頼みました。これを2,300円くらいのマダムコースにすると、鯛のフリットのお皿がつくということで、迷ったのですが、今回はやめました。が、最初の一品めのスープが出てきたときから、あー鯛のフリットも頼めばよかったーと後悔するくらい、そのスープが美しく美味しいものでした。サツマイモのスープはありきたりなコンソメ味など全くしないですが、野菜そのものの甘みやハーブやオリーブオイルを生かした優しいお味。カリカリベーコンの塩味がアクセントになっています。そのお皿の上に乗せられているスティック状のパイには、細かいスパイスが風味豊かにまぶされていてサクサクと頂きました！！これから後の料理に期待が膨らむ前菜となってました！メインのパスタはミンチ状のエビとキャベツなどの野菜がパスタと程よく絡んでいるオイルパスタでした。柚子の皮がすり下ろされていたり、チーズ、かいわれなどもあしらいとても複雑なお味となっていて満足の一品となっていました。私の好みとしては、もう少しウェッティーなのがすきなのですが、まぁ量も多く満足です。あと、フランスパンを程よく焼いて出してくださり、お店オリジナルのレモン風味のオリーブオイルをかけて頂きました。そうやってお腹いっぱいなのに、デザートのお皿も充実していて、りんごのシャーベットにガドーショコラ、ベリー系のソースが3種類、描くように盛り付けられていたのも、気持ちを豊かにしてもらえました。 かなり、穴場のお店だと思います！！駅からも近い...
