Yes many people are aware of the heart breaking story about the loyal Hachiko and Dr. Ueno - the reason for the statue located at Shibuya crossing. But few people actually know of the 2nd statue that is located within the Tokyo University grounds.
The reason for this follow-up is to pay homage to the professor who worked here as well as to Hachiko who is depicted as finally reuniting with his master in the after life.
