Ok for families, useless if you want to swim laps for fitness. Three lanes only, one of which is free swimming (so no laps basically). Other two are usable for lap swimming, but the setup - unfortunately all too common at Japanese public pools - is that everyone goes one way down one lane then has to move across to the other lane to go back. This is problematic at the best of times given wild speed differences and having to overtake, but becomes almost impossible if you get people who hog the lane; I was almost kicked in the face and then cut up, seemingly intentionally, by some kid and his dad. Lifeguards were understanding although there’s not much they can do about users like this, as technically they're not contravening pool rules.
If you want a proper session, I personally would take the financial hit and go to the metropolitan gymnasium pools...

They were very polite to let me know. I was amazed that there were so many people and the lifeguards were attentive to everyone in the pool. Only the reception area at the entrance to the pool...
